Abstract

Today PLC’s (Programmable Logic Controller) play an important part in all industrial control processes, being used in different scenarios from factory subsystem automation up power grid supervise and control. Typical off the shelf solution provided by major players in the PLC market, are relevant for high level projects, but in case of small-scale projects where there is the need to control or supervise a few processes, a solution like this is considerably too expensive. For this level repurposing a device like a Raspberry Pi into a PLC is a better option, more cost-effective. This paper will present the step-by-step transformation of Raspberry Pi into PLC.
