Abstract

An experimental work on volatile organic compounds (VOCs) removal with electric discharge plasma generated by dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) reactor was carried out at atmospheric pressure and room temperature The work mainly focused to explore decomposition of simulated Benzene & Toluene for different parameters such as applied voltage & concentration. Plasma reactor combined with catalytic reactor forms a hybrid system to check the effectiveness of the catalytic material on pollutants removal. Finally comparison made for plasma, plasma hybrid technique and the results are discussed.
