Abstract

New energy vehicle (NEV) industry is attracting numerous researchers, engineers and workers who are expected to have broad knowledge and expertise different from those of the traditional vehicles. Existing curriculum system at Chinese universities cannot readily cultivate students to meet the needs of innovative research and development for NEV, whilst such needs are rather strong in China where NEV has become one of the major industries. Therefore, an undergraduate course of Power Train of New Energy Vehicles and a related training base of New Energy Vehicle Innovative Design Platform are established at Zhejiang University, China, as presented in this paper, in order to build a multidisciplinary talent-cultivation system, particularly in the field of NEV power train system.
