A Case of the TS1 Carcinoma of Pancreas that Progressed in the Pancreatic Duct

stage. A 73-year-old woman was referred to our department for a small pancreatic cancer on the portal vein. Intraoperative ultrasonography did not showed any tumor, but we detected obstruction of the main pancreatic duct on the portal vein, so we performed pancreatoduodenectomy. Pathological examination showed that cancer cells were not only obstructing the main pancreatic duct at the portal vein position but also the pancreatic ducts near the papilla Vater. When considering the possibility of cancer developing in the pancreatic duct, R0 surgery is required even in a small pancreatic cancer.
