Abstract

Summary: The article is devoted to a brief overview of the main technical, technological and socio-economic trends in the creation and development of tank-building plants in the USSR during 1931–1941. Paper provides an assessment of the results of the formation of the tank industry in the pre-war decade, shows its achievements, key difficulties and contradictions that influenced the implementation of the Red Army's tank building program.
