Abstract

The aim of this paper is to implement, simulate and evaluate the sub-band MVDR (Minimum Variance Distortionless Response) algorithm for IEEE 802.11ac signals of different bandwidths. Its implementation and evaluation were performed using Matlab. The algorithm proved to have a good performance and be suitable for directing the main lobe of the antenna array radiation pattern in the desired direction. Moreover, an improvement in the data transmission quality was proven, as the BER (bit error rate) indicator show-cased lower values in the same SNR conditions as the non-beamforming scenario.
