Abstract

Current paper presents the results of the study of the association between the attachment style in ex-combatants and the post-traumatic readjustment period. The possible relationships which were outlined in the earlier studies were the following: directly – through the relationships with the close ones, and indirectly – through the influence on the behavioral strategies in more broad social interactions. Also, it was shown that there is a link in-between the attachment style, and the representation of the oneself, and the others, as well as the association with the cognitive-emotional regulation particularities in their relation to PTSD symptoms prediction. The results of the study of 82 veterans, which was conducted on the base of medical-psychological rehabilitation center for ATO/OOC veterans. The results of the statistical analysis pointed out the differences in-between the types of attachment styles due to the characteristics of the cognitive-emotional regulation strategies and the post-traumatic symptoms severity level.
