Abstract
A new strategy for broken rotor bars and load oscillation diagnosis on induction motors is presented. From the instantaneous active and reactive power theory, two current Park's vectors are obtained, the active and reactive Park's vectors. The analysis of the frequency spectrum of the modulus of these vectors allows both detecting broken bars and load oscillations, and the correct diagnosis of such problems. A method to avoid the measurement of supply voltage is also presented. The proposed strategy is validated by simulation and experimental results.
