Abstract

This paper proposes a novel approach for the determination of the controller gains in a Field Oriented Control (FOC) chain. Our Method utilizes the famous Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm to resolve the optimal gains (Global best solution-gbest) for speed control of the induction Motor (IM). Simulation results confirm the effectiveness of the proposed tool in term of accuracy and dynamic performance compared to the traditional “trial and error” methods.
