The main question is, what conditions are required to make them intercultural, given the different histories and standpoints, articulations and expectations of all involved parties in the process. The inter action between these parties is the constitutive element of processes of knowledge transfer and knowledge acquisition. Taking into account individual, cultural and personal contri butions (input), the commingling during the process of knowledge construction (interaction, conflict, consensus or dissent), as well as hierarchies between lecturers and students, and among students themselves, the result of the interaction – is a contingent growth of know -ledge, competence or experience (output). Depending on expectations of learners and lecturers such interaction can be short or long.
