Abstract

The paper analyzes the asynchronous AC motor used in the anchoring and steering installation with a focus on its behavior and characteristics using Matlab, Simulink design programs. For the simulation, a rotor cage motor, with step sources, and an asynchronous machine, with winding rotor in star connection with a ramp function in order to generate a load that varies linearly over time, were used. The variations in load values depending on the working regime, the stator and rotor currents and the speed and frequency variation for two types of asynchronous motors used in seagoing ships were represented.
