Abstract
We presents a link level performance evaluation and comparison of single antenna interference cancellation (SAlC) and conventional receivers in a synchronous GSM network scenario. The SAIC receiver is equipped with a maximum signal to noise ratio (maxSNR) FIR filter. This interference rejection method has been proven to be very effective in suppressing single co-channel and adjacent-channel interferers, however, in single co-channel scenario, raw BER performance are affected by a severe floor close to 10-3. In this paper it is shown how the floor can be removed allowing the SAIC receiver to show a constant gain when compared to a conventional receiver
