The authors describe the creation of model of the physical principle of operation (PPO) of the photoelectrocolorimeter and the subsequent receipt of new constructive implementation of its electron-optical block by heuristic change in the constructed PPA model. The analysis of the received technical solution for the identification of all its characteristics allowing one to increase the efficiency of the device is carried out. The authors describe the construction of the electron-optical block of the photoelectrocolorimeter, developed on the basis of the received technical solution. It allows implementing automatic selection of the device operating wavelength to refuse the number of the mechanical operations, made earlier by the operator, and reduce energy consumption of the device. It is also capable of reducing the weight and dimensions and increasing its reliability. The device is used for determining the concentration of substances in the coloured solutions or solutions which can be made coloured as a result of a certain chemical reaction. It is developed on the basis of the microcontroller. The interaction of the operator with the device is performed by means of the button interface.
