Confidentiality, authenticity, security, privacy and also integrity of image data have become a vital issue for communication and storage of images, especially when dealing with the internet, a channel that is insecure. Accordingly, there have been countless technologies of satellite images encryption being introduced in the recent years. Relevantly, this paper will discuss the notion of cryptography and images encryption. Then, different techniques of satellite images encryption will be discussed and the works associated with each technique will be reviewed.
