Abstract

The main purpose of this study is to develop an on-line simulation-based learning system (SBLS for short) for supporting the undergraduate students to learn data structures. Four modes of SBLS is designed for investigating, constructing and elaborating concepts of tree structures, including demonstration mode, step mode, quiz mode and ask mode. This study conducted a short term self-regulated learning experiment, and asked the participants to evaluate this system. The evaluation results reveal that the learners show high appraisal toward this system on usefulness, easiness and use intention.
