Abstract

A process called emergency permits allows counselors-in-training to be employed as school counselors throughout the state of Texas. Using a phenomenological approach, authors explored the experiences of counselors-in-training working as public school counselors through the emergency permit process. Seven themes emerged from semi-structured interviews with five participants. Authors addressed implications of the study and discussed directions for future research.
