Then, the t-test was used to test the hypothesis. The result of the hypothesis test proves that using picture series can improve students’ speaking ability. It can be seen from the mean score of the pre-test and post- test which was analyzed through SPSS 16.00. The mean score of the pre-test was 53.7 and it was improved to 70 in post-test and the gain was 16.3. The result of the t- test shows that the level of significance is p < 0.05 and the significant two-tail is p=0.000.
