Abstract

This paper aims to show the relevance of an adapted KERS type system for power gain and increased autonomy for a Formula Student competition vehicle, thus reducing premature engine wear. The proposed system captures the braking energy and stores it in a battery for the activation of electric motors, in order to optimize the overall operation of the vehicle. Finally, it was intended to create a line of studies to expand the use of similar systems for vehicles of the SAE competition.
