Abstract
With aggravation of power system complexity and wide application of flexible AC transmission system (FACTS) equipments in power system, interactions and coordination between FACTS controllers need to be investigated and solved. Different from Phillips-Heffron model, the linear model of 2-area, 4-machine power system with Static Var Compensators (SVC) and Static Synchronous Compensators (STATCOM) installed was established, which is used in the process of relative gain array (RGA) analysis. The relationship of interactions and electric distance between SVC and SVC or between SVC and STATCOM were investigated based on RGA principle. The results of a time-domain simulation was consistent with RGA analysis, which verified the feasibility and effectiveness of RGA principle used to analyze interactions between FACTS equipments in power system.
