Some processes also waste the available resources, such as water, which raises the price. Improvement of Cost and Quality is thus a crucial concern in the CED Paint Shop. Therefore, programmable logic controllers (PLC) can be used to provide automation solutions. The advantage of this automation is that processes may be controlled automatically, eliminating the need for manual control. Abstract

In order to increase shop efficiency and costs, this presentation will describe an automation system based on programmable logic controllers for the CED paint shop. Paint shops using Cathode Electrode Deposition (CED) play a significant role in the automotive industry. For the car to be cleaned and painted properly, certain procedures must be followed.
