Abstract

This paper explains the leakage current and pollution flash over of 11kv pin insulator subjected to unknown cause due to the Bird excretion. The bird excretion formed contamination on insulator surface. It find the wet contaminated insulator flash over voltage is more than the dry contaminated flash over voltage the wet contamination is an provide a low resistance path for flash over voltage on insulator. The dry contaminated insulator is like normal pollution. This bird excretion reduces the arcing length along the insulator and provide leakage current path on insulator surface.
