Abstract

Objectives: To examine the mental health of hotel service workers and to verify the mediating effect of somatic symptoms in the relationship between mental health and oral symptoms. Methods: From March 1 to June 30, 2022, a survey was conducted of 579 workers at three hotels in Seoul. Research analysis was performed using IBM SPSS 27.0 Version. Results: Firstly, the higher the symptoms of depression, anxiety and somatic symptoms, the higher the oral symptoms, showing a significant difference. Secondly, in the relationship between depression and anxiety symptoms and oral symptoms, somatic symptoms showed a partial mediating effect. Conclusions: Somatic symptoms of hotel service workers are an important mediating factor. If somatic symptoms are prominent during work activities, it can be predicted that negative mental and oral health symptoms will appear.
