Abstract

This paper demonstrates different classical PI tuning methods being used in buck converter. Performance parameters such as rise-time, maximum peak overshoot, steady state error, delay time and performance indices such as IAE and ISE are analyzed while controlling output voltage, supply voltage and load of ideal and non-ideal buck converter. Small signal analysis has been done to obtain output and duty ratio transfer function of the converter. Wave-forms of output voltage and output current with variation in input voltage, output voltage and load are also observed and analyzed for both ideal and non-ideal buck converter.
