Abstract

In the collections of the Museum of Bucharest was found a pair of earrings from the George Severeanu collection, which has remained unpublished until now. Most likely due to the rarity of such ornaments discovered in Romania, but also to the fact that its place of discovery is unknown. According to its characteristics of making, but also of the decorative elements, the source of inspiration of the jeweller indicates the pieces from the East-Adriatic space, from the end of the 13th century and the 14th century. Their physicochemical analysis is quite different from that of specimens from the western Balkan Peninsula, made mostly of silver or gold. The specimens from the collection of the Bucharest museum suggest a possible making of them at the end of the 14th century or the beginning of the 15th century.
