Abstract

The next generation of Mobile Communications is setting very ambitious goals that require the development of totally new technologies based on recent scientific advances. The integration of computing and communications still poses many challenges not well understood well in 5G, and will demand high levels of reliability, isolation, security and efficiency. System management will most likely require the development of AI-based solutions. On the radio side, new technologies to make advantage of the THz spectrum have to be developed.
