Abstract

In this paper, the HFSS program is used to carry out a parametric study on WAIM sheets when used with phased array antennas. From the observation of parametric study results, it may be revealed that the selection of material, sheet thickness, and spacing need to be optimized for the optimum WAIM performance. The proposed empirical expression may be used to predict the probable location of the WAIM sheet spacing, S, for improving the performance of the WAIM sheet when used in front of phased arrays.
