Abstract
Today, the Internet of Things (IoT) application have developed rapidly, such as smart home, smart city, smart greenhouse, smart retail, industrial automation, intelligent transportation, etc. These applications use sensor to transmit measurement information result and control instruction over a wireless sensor network. WSN is an intelligent network application system that collects, integrates and transmits data autonomously. The main obstacle in using WSN is the limited power of each sensor. Thus energy inefficiency in all sensor protocol layers needs to be suppressed. One solution to overcome this problem is to use clustering techniques. This paper discusses the results of a survey of clustering techniques in IoT. From this survey, it can be seen that alternative clustering techniques can be used in IoT.
