Firstly, the calculation method of actual vehicles entering the parking area is proposed, and then the influence of different parameters on parking space demand is studied by using queuing theory. The research results show that the entry rate, design hourly traffic volume coefficient, turnover rate, system loss rate and parking space occupancy rate all have an impact on parking space demand. The higher the entry rate, the greater the design hourly traffic volume coefficient, the smaller the system loss rate and the lower the parking space occupancy rate, the greater the parking space demand. The method of calculating the number of parking spaces in the parking area proposed in this paper is applied to practical projects.
