Abstract

Transformation optics, as a practical strategy to control light, has been intensively studied and widely adopted recently. It provides a straightforward connection between the geometrical optics of devices and the gradient refractions of their composite materials, thus initiated the quest for ultimate electromagnetics in various applications. In this paper, we will demonstrate the extension of this concept into the control of surface waves at microwave frequencies. Design examples, such as surface wave cloaks and surface wave antennas are introduced.
