Abstract
it is presented a technical and economic analysis of an energy efficiency project to upgrade the electrical system of a cardboard manufacturing plant. The plant produces paper and cardboard boxes in Northern Israel, and had been designed according to outdated standards. Technical innovations to achieve energy efficiency, economy savings and gas emission reductions were studied. The efficiency activities included re-design of lighting, design of energy conservation devices for lighting and air-conditioning systems, design of a photo-voltaic generation system, and optimization on the use of the steam produced, applying it for air-conditioning and water heating. The investment program and the expected financial return of the project were also calculated.
