Abstract

The paper presents the chronology of Russian educational standards, and dwells on the basic principles of the Fed- eral State Educational Standards for Schools and Universities. The research describes B. Bloom’s and his followers’ taxonomy of educational goals and its three domains: cognitive, affective and psychomotor. The paper analyzes and compares the requirements of the Federal State Educational Standards for mastering the basic curriculum and the requirements of B. Bloom’s taxonomy of educational goals for developing learners’ cognitive skills.
