Abstract
This paper uses the Fast Independent Component Analysis (FastICA) algorithm, as adapted to noncircular complex sources, to extract radar scattering signatures. Part of these signatures is then used as features in an airborne target recognition system. The concept is illustrated using synthetic target models and then applied to real target models with UWB signatures spanning a 10 GHz bandwidth.
