The D-STATCOM is modeled for determination of its size by assuming the voltage magnitude as 1 p.u. at the candidate bus. The validity of the method is tested on the standard IEEE 33-bus radial distribution system by performing load flow analysis after compensating the candidate bus using MATLAB software. The results obtained are compared without and with the D-STATCOM for all load models. Abstract
