Abstract

In recent years, wireless power transfer (WPT) using magnetic resonant coupling has attracted much attention due to its high convenience. Many methods have been proposed to control WPT systems, such as DC-DC converters, inverters, and the positional relationship between transmitting and receiving coils. However, previous research has assumed that the mutual inductance, which cannot be measured during power transmission, is known. Therefore, this study proposes a control system that considers the variation of mutual inductance during power transmission by estimating the mutual inductance. First, the WPT system is modeled. Next, the mutual inductance estimation is explained and the control system is designed. Finally, the effectiveness of the control is demonstrated through simulations in MATLAB.
