Abstract

The paper discusses modern approaches to the economic support of design and engineering solutions for industry from two angles: improvement of the economic competence of engineering cadres when they get higher education and target training of engineering economists for the industries of the IV technological paradigm. The experience in training engineering economists is analyzed by sectors, as well as the experience in teaching economic subjects in technical universities, which allow for evaluating the economic component of engineering solutions. Suggestions are made about developing the applied aspects of economic subjects which make it possible to optimize design and engineering solutions and minimize production costs.
