Abstract
Power line carrier (PLC) is a very convenient, economical and efficient means of communication for applications eg. voice communication, telemetering, fault location and system protection etc. Existing, PLC systems, limit the use of this means of communication due to the inefficiency of line traps in providing required attenuation to PLC signals at busbars. Therefore, PLC leakage si@ interferes with PLC signals h m adjacent line sections operating at the same frequencies. Due to the limitation of fiequency reuses, the availability of channels is reduced. Stochastic Approximation (SA) based identification technique has been used to identify the dynamic response of the line trap for an adaptive tilter, based on signal’s models (PLC and leakage signals). Predicted level of intdkrence has been crosspolarised to the b u s b to get interference cancellation. In the paper, simulation results and graphical representation of adaptive digital filter will show the effectiveness of the technique on a PLC model.
