Simulation Based of Comparative Study of Routing Protocols for Real Time Applications

Abstract

The study presents the differences between the internal routing protocols which are often used to design certain IP networks. Riverbed Modeler software is used for the designing and simulation of a proposed campus-type network. Several routing protocols are investigated in the simulation: RIP (Routing Information Protocol), OSPF (Open Shortest Path First), IGRP (Interior Gateway Routing Protocol) and EIGRP (Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol). The study presents a simple automation modality of some processes in the network.
