Abstract
The demand for high efficiency and high reliability of power distribution has indirectly introduced some challenges to the power distribution companies. This has led to various constraints such as environmental issues, the high cost of establishing a new power plant, and the restriction on the existing built transmission line. A new concept known as Distributed Generation (DG) has been introduced to overcome these constraints. One of the technical issues created by DG interconnection is unintentional islanding. The DG units will continue to provide power to the respectively connected line, which led to an island's formation. The fast Fourier Transform (FFT) method will analyze the Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) of the system. This paper's main objectives are to mitigate one of the power quality issues in the Distributed Generation (DG) system, which focuses on the harmonic distortion of the sinusoidal waveform that is produced by each component in the DG grid network. The MATLAB/SIMULINK is used for analysis and modeling of Distributed Generation (DG).
