Utilizing Business Process Analysis and Feature Analysis in Software Product Assessment

Abstract

Business process analysis combined with feature analysis can provide valuable impact on software product assessment. This paper presents the results of two case studies related to this approach. The first case study describes an investigation we conducted to improve the process of collecting and tracking installed base information using an existing software product. The second case study was focusing on software product lines. In this case, we analyzed a set of existing software products with regards to assessing the reuse potential of industrial software systems. The results of the case studies show that the proposed approach is suitable and effective for software product assessment.
