The gain is higher than 8.39 dBi with an improvement of 6.75 dBi at the frequency 4.1 GHz. Abstract

In this article, a broadband patch antenna operating from 3,38 to 6,95GHz with an improved radiation pattern performances characteristics is studied and designed. The antenna in its initial form provides a large bandwidth but with simple radiation pattern characteristics. In order to improve these characteristics, a bandstop reflector is designed on the basis of Frequency Selective Surface (FSS) structure. After integrating the patch antenna with the FSS, according to the simulation findings, the gain of the suggested structure is significantly improved.
