Abstract

This paper proposes a new mathematical formula to calculate the Transient Energy Margin (TEM) under the condition of double shot Automatic Line Reclosing (ALR) within the frame of the center of inertia of the multi-machine power system. With the proposed formula, a new algorithm is built to assess the transient stability to rank the power buses in a multi-machine power system, serving the power system expansion planning.
