The review also examines thefactors that may affect the effectiveness of parental involvement, such as familybackground, cultural values, and school context. The review finds that parental involvement can have both positive and negative effects on secondary student outcomes, with the most beneficial results seen in families with high levels of parental involvement and positive parent-child relationships.
