Abstract

This review examines research on the influence of parental involvement onsecondary level student outcomes. The review considers the positive and negativeeffects of parental involvement on students’ academic achievement, social andemotional wellbeing, and educational aspirations. The review also examines thefactors that may affect the effectiveness of parental involvement, such as familybackground, cultural values, and school context.
