Abstract

A dual-core photonic crystal fiber carbon dioxide sensor is designed and investigated using COMSOL software. The fiber is having two cores that are separated by another air hole which can act as a sensing region when it is filled with analyte. The sensor is based upon RI principle and CO2 RI varies with various parameters such as temperature, humidity and concentration etc. The different modes of the sensor are determined and RI difference, coupling length of the two cores and sensitivity of the device is presented.
