Abstract

Transient resistance is one of the main factors that affect an error in determining the resistance of a short circuit damage point in single-way feed systems [1]. In two-way feed systems transient resistance is accompanied by power transfer between the systems as well. Depending on the power flow between systems during a short circuit, the operating characteristic of the distance protection is shifted.Such a shift leads to unnecessary and false distance protection triggering of its line; to the coordination problems of adjacent steps of its line, as well as to coordination problems of first steps of the adjacent lines.
