Abstract

Cascaded power electronic topology has developed rapidly, but its large number of nodes has also brought great challenges to electromagnetic transient modeling and simulation. For this problem, many equivalent modeling methods for specific circuit topology have been proposed, but there are still many complex topologies especially sub-modules with two or more ports that lack relevant models. As a typical dual-port module, DAB (Dual-Active-Bridge) is widely used in various power electronic devices. This paper consequently proposes a general simulation modeling method of DAB under different cascaded modes based on the discrete state space method, which can obtain different equivalent models according to the cascaded mode. The modeling method can eliminate the internal nodes of sub-modules, and improve the simulation efficiency while maintaining the original simulation accuracy.
