This makes a direct measurement of effective wind speed impossible. This paper analyzes the spectrum of the measurement of the anemometer and generator power of a wind turbine, and points out that the characteristics of these two signals are complementary in the frequency domain. An observer for effective wind speed has been proposed based on frequency-domain data fusion theory. The observer design is formulated as an mixed-sensitivity problem with LMIs. Simulations were carried out to assess the performance under a realistic wind speed profile.
