Abstract
Retinal fundus image analysis is an essential tool for the computer-aided diagnosis of various ocular disorders such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration etc. Glaucoma is one retinal disease occurs due to increased intraocular pressure. Optic disc is the prominent feature of fundus image for diagnosing optic neuropathy condition. In the automatic analysis of glaucoma, a prior knowledge of optic disc location and its diameter is important. Several research work has been implemented in the past few decades for the automatic localization of the optic disc. In this paper, different techniques for OD localization in literature are discussed. DRIVE, STARE, DIARETDB0, DIARETDB1, DRIONS-DB, MESSIDOR, ONHSD, ROC, DRISHTI-GS, ARIA, RIM-ONE, INSPIRE-AVR, E-OPTHA- EX, HEI-MED, and HRF are some public databases used by various authors. The authors have used the performance measures such as accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity for the quantitative analysis of the methods.
