Abstract

Street lighting is an important element of the infrastructure influencing road safety. An important role is the proper design of street lighting as well as verification of lighting levels in the process of operating the luminaires. For complex road situations, where luminance measurement is not possible, the standard allows for the use of class C and intensity measurement. Measurements of the intensity of street lighting involve the use of a hand-held luxmeter, which makes the measurements time-consuming and labor-intensive. An alternative are measuring systems located on the roof of the vehicle, while there are currently no standards for the use of dynamic measurements in normative tests. The article presents an analysis of the use of the inverse square method to interpolate measurement planes and the Dialux environment. The results confirmed the validity of the use of the method and were used to validate the measurement results obtained using our own dynamic street lighting intensity measurement system.
