Abstract

People are characterized more by migration than by sedentariness. One of the relevant forms of migration is the labor migration from Turkey to Germany. Migrants have tried not only to earn their livelihood in the new environment, but also to engage in artistic activities. One of these artistic forms has been film. In this context, the film »Almanya – Wilkommen in Deutschland« (2010) by Yasemin Şamdereli has a special position. This article examines the representative figures of three migrant generations with reference to the filmic aesthetics by which the concepts of identity regarding the aforementioned figures are presented.
