Abstract

In this work, microwave heating of a buried target by a non-planar Electromagnetic (EM) wave source is investigated numerically using the Finite-Difference Time-Domain (FDTD) technique. Such a non-planar wave source is obtained by placing the target in the Fresnel region of a circular aperture representing a parabolic reflector antenna.
